Originally opening in 2016 as a pop-up in Surry Hills, Toko Owner, Matt Yazbek, launched Cubby’s Kitchen in a new home in the Sydney CBD in 2018. The venue name derives from Yazbek’s mother Mouna whose nickname happens to be Cubby and the restaurant is an ode to his family’s heritage. A family affair, having opened the restaurant with his two sisters, they are now joined by long time family friend, NRL star Anthony Watmough.
Experience a new tradition at Cubby’s from succulent lamb kafta with a yoghurt dressing and Lebanese spices, to barramundi with harissa, garlic and sliced almonds. You’ll be so excited by the menu, that you won’t know where to start.
Cubby’s drinks menu features Lebanese inspired beverages like the Pomegranate Mojito, Araktini, Lebanese Espresso Martini, and also Almaza Beer and Chateau Ksara Wines, imported from Lebanon.
Serving up traditional Lebanese fare with some modern twists, Cubby’s Kitchen is the ideal spot to share a memorable meal and celebrate a special occasion with your family and friends. With the best selection of Cubby’s dishes, book a function and choose from our delicious banquet and canapé menus.
Channelling the traditional favourites with modern influences, the chef has applied his knowledge of Lebanese and Japanese food to create subtle connections in cooking styles and flavours that can be found throughout the menu like the baba ghanoush with eggplant chunks and miso, or the hummus with chilli edamame and chilli oil.
